Espresso Machine Boilers

Espresso machine and your coffee
For a large proportion of the people in the world coffee is a must to keep them going. A coffee right in the morning, to wake you up fresh for the day, one at mid morning to make you alert during your work, one in the evening to take away the exhaustion of the long day etc. Among the different types of coffee available all around today, most people prefer espresso coffee, an Italian version considering its strength and flavor. Espresso is often misspelled as expresso. An espresso machine is a machine that is used to prepare espresso coffee.
The very first form of an espresso machine was built in Italy in 1884. The innovation was patented in the same year. Most of the improvements on the espresso machine were made after seventeen years of its invention; i.e. in 1901. Since then there have been many modifications made in the machine to make it more user friendly.
There are different driving forces used in an espresso machine. The pressure change, the fineness of the coffee powder etc. will affect the taste of the coffee. The three types of espresso machines based on the driving force difference are steam driven espresso machine, piston driven espresso machine and pump driven espresso machine. Here the boiling water is forced through the coffee powder to get espresso by the force of steam. This kind of driving force omits the need of moving parts and so reduces cost of construction. These were the initial kind of espresso machines. Later on, by 1945, piston driven or lever driven espresso machines were invented. The piston can be either manually operated or spring operated.
Commercially the most commonly used espresso machines are pump driven. There are different kinds of pump driven espresso machines used at homes. They are single boiler espresso machine, single boiler/dual use espresso machine, heat exchanger espresso machine and dual boiler espresso machine. The most recently developed espresso machine is the Auto pump driven type. Compressed air is used as driving force in this kind of coffee machine.
With new technological developments, espresso machines also have improved greatly. There are three types of espresso machines that make them more user-friendly. They are semi- automatic, automatic and super-automatic. Apart from all these there are also stove top espresso machines. These are also known as Moka pots. But they are available at lower cost compared to the automated ones.
